MEMORIAL DAY-5/27/13

MEMORIAL DAY-5/27/13

If we stop to think about what this weekend is really about, the produce business is not very important.  Many of you are old enough to remember when Memorial Day was call Decreation Day.  It was orginally stated to remember those that died in the Civil War then the Spanish-American War.  After World War l it became Memorial Day.  Sometime after either World War l or ll it was made a national holiday and then a three day weekend.

While many of us think of this as the kick-off of summer and all the fun that brings, let us not lose sight of what this weekend is truly about.  Let us remember those that have given so much so we can have the lives we enjoy and honor those that “Stand on the Wall” and guard us.  These young men and women put their lives in harms way so each of us can continue to serve our fellow man by providing the best possible fruits and vegetables at the best possible price.  We do this under the dome of protection provided for us by those who serve in all the branchs of the U.S. Military.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
